Becoming A Lily Bride

After hating her experience shopping the largest selection of wedding dresses in the world at Kleinfeld’s bridal boutique in New York City, this Massachusetts bride found magic at Lily Saratoga.

“I can’t say enough great things about them. I tell everyone you’ve got to find your dress there. They stand out over all the others,” said Allison Snell.

Falling in Love

Allison was entranced by the sultry, seamless silhouette of the classic, lacy Martina Liana dress from the very first moment she saw it.

“They say when you find the dress, you’ll know it, and that’s what happened,” said Allison. After trying unsuccessfully to find her wedding dress at Kleinfeld’s (the location of the reality television series, Say Yes to the Dress, on TLC), Allison began searching Instagram on the ride home.

That’s when she fell in love and was destined to become a #lilybride.

Dreams Do Come True

Less than a month after she called, in July, Allison was at Lily Saratoga trying on the dress she had seen online.

“I’d kept the dress in the back of my mind the whole time so the wait made it worth it to me in the end,” she said.

Besides the long sleeves, the dress was just as she had imagined it would be.

“It stuck out a hundred percent from the dresses I’d tried on from other designers. There was always something I wanted to change about the other dresses, something I didn’t like. For this dress, there wasn’t anything I wanted to change,” said Allison.

Allison, her grandmother, mother, and sister (who had accompanied her to the appointment) agreed on how special it was and placed their order within the hour.

Simply Beautiful

All six of Allison’s bridesmaids were able to find their dresses during back-to-back appointments at Lily Saratoga, as well. Following Allison’s guidance to “go with whatever’s comfortable,” each choose their preferred style in a similar champagne color scheme from the Jenny Yoo collection.

By January, Allison was back in Saratoga Springs for her fitting at WillFitUin (now Mosca Alterations), the alteration shop Lily Saratoga recommended, located in the same building. Because her measurements had been spot-on, the only changes needed were to adjust the straps and to have the hips taken in slightly. The dress was then stored in Saratoga until the week of the wedding.

Stunning enough on its own, Allison’s only accessory for her wedding day was a set of Olive and Piper earrings.

“The neckline of the dress was simply beautiful enough that I didn’t need anything else” said Allison.

Dancing the Night Away

It wasn’t until just before the ceremony started at Bloom Meadows in Williamstown, Massachusetts in May, that Allison began to feel nervous. When she appeared for the first time in her dress before her betrothed, Shane Snell, he began to cry.

It stopped raining just 15 minutes before their reception. Allison bustled her heavy floral train and danced all night long.

“I can’t believe how dirty the dress was by the end of the night. That’s how you know it was a good wedding. By how dirty the dress got!” she said.

Part of the Family

When it was all said and done, the cost of Allison’s dress came in at just $100 more than the $3,000 budgeted. Her experience at Lily Saratoga, however, went well beyond her expectations.

“I can’t say enough great things about them. I tell everyone, you’ve got to find your dress there. They stand out over all the others.”

“It’s such a unique place compared to others I’ve been to,” said Allison. “Lily Saratoga honestly doesn’t compare to anyplace else.”

After witnessing Allison’s success at Lily Saratoga, her sister, Alyssa, is set to be the next #lilybride in the family.
