Live Wedding Paintings Amaze!

The venue is gorgeous and the flowers are delightful, but weddings are about more than what you see.
Friends and family watch as artist Gretchen Louise Tisch paints the special beauty and the feeling of this momentous day - live.
Brimming with Love and Fun
Like other guests, the romance has Tisch teary-eyed. She joyfully dances while she paints, playfully entertaining the children when they run up to her easel.
As the celebration progresses, the excitement and suspense for the final reveal builds.
“They’re really wanting to see how I feel about what they’re exuding,” said Tisch.
Finally, there is the sensational moment when the bride and groom finally see their finished painting.
“Their faces are awesome! You can see their bond deepening over my painting,” she said.
The Beauty of a Painting
Your wedding day feels like a dream, and live wedding paintings express that in a unique way. Photographers and videographers can only capture what is in front of their lens, but paintings can incorporate the imagination.
“I’m not trying to make it look like a photo. It’s not a perfectly realistic capturing. I can incorporate the parts that are special to them with movement, emotion, and color,” said Tisch.
She’s painted a couple exchanging their vows in front of a climbing flower garden when in reality there was just a white wall. She’s created a complete scene from a collage of the couple’s favorite elements to give them a truly touching piece to cherish long into the future.
“That’s the beauty of a painting,” she said.
Witnessing the Wonder
During the initial consultation, you’ll discuss what you’d like Tisch to include: the people, background, and which moment – walking down the aisle, the first kiss, first dance or another that you’d like her to paint.
She’ll arrive to your venue approximately two hours before the ceremony to set-up and begin painting. Guests are intrigued by the novelty of watching the painting develop before their eyes and Tisch herself, who shines in a live setting “I like when people want to watch me,” she said.
Tisch is a bit of a performer and has become accustomed to working in front of a live audience through her experience painting at Feathered Antler, her Broadway art studio boutique, and at the Spa City and Saratoga Farmers’ Markets.
Painting the Possibilities
Painting memories from photographs on canvas, prints, note cards, custom painted apparel, wedding signage and table décor spread Tisch’s special blend of bright colors beyond the canvas - creating a cohesive theme, and a world of possibilities for your big day.
