Everyone has a story, this is ours.

We got engaged December 2019, and had the entire wedding planned within a month for June 20, 2020! We were thrilled The Adelphi had a summer opening. Our dream was to always get married at The Adelphi. We didn’t even look at other venues.

When COVID originally hit we thought for sure, come June, everything would be back to normal. By the end of April we needed to decide if we were cancelling or changing our date. We went back and forth for days, it was torture.

We wanted to get married, we wanted to begin moving forward with our lives, and we didn’t want a virus to stop us from that. We loved our date, (6/20/20) just had a ring to it that we loved! SO after much thought, we decided to move forward with all our original plans- just minus 100 people.

The Adelphi, as well as all the vendors we used were so accommodating and helpful. Our wedding day was intimate, special, absolutely stunning, and filled with the love of our closest family members. It ended up being a picturesque day- and ultimately, I think the way it was always meant to be.

Of course, we would have loved all our family and friends to be present, but if there’s one thing we learned after having a COVID wedding, it’s that the people who care about you will reach out and understand this was out of our control. We splurged a little bit to have a beautiful video made of the day, and we have so many amazing photos to share.

Everything happens for a reason. It might not make sense when it is happening, but follow your heart. Keep your date! ♥
